Patrick E. Smith of Weeki Wachee, Florida formerly of Griffith, IN age 86 born March 14, 1930 and passed away on Friday, September 16, 2016.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary E. Smith (nee Greatrix);

Children Patrick Smith, Jeffrey (Darlene) Smith, Terri (Jim Govert) Smith, Barry (Diane) Smith, Jerry (Lisa) Smith;

Grandchildren  Emily Long, Emily (Christopher) Madison, Brian Smith, Scott Smith, Joshua Smith;

Great grandchildren Ella and Noah Madison and Nevaeh and Isabella Hurtado;

Aunt, June Boswinkle and Sister-in-law, Serena Smith; and by his dog, Pappy.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Thelma and Everett Smith and his step-mother, Susie Smith and by his brother, Jack Smith.

Memorial services will be held at  White Funeral Home located at 921 W. 45th Avenue, Griffith on Wednesday, September 28th  at 7:00 pm with the Griffith American Legion Post 66 providing military honors.

Friends may meet with the family at White Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 28th  from 4-7:00 pm.

Pat graduated from Griffith High School Class of 1948, in the  Air Force from 1951-1955 and a Korean War Air Force Veteran.  He retired from LTV Steel in 1982 after 36 years and was a member of American Legion Post 66 and the Griffith Barnstormers.  Pate was also a former girls softball coach and he was a diehard Chicago Cubs fan. He enjoyed photography, woodcarving, computer building, fishing and camping at Hoffman Lake.
