My deepest sympathy to Dorothy, Wanda, Doug, Dave and the rest of Jack's family. I would have come in person, but I just saw the obituary today. Since you left Magoun, our contacts have been few and far between, but the memories and my fondness for your family remains. Rest in Peace, Jack.

Lisa and Family very sorry for your loss. Knew Jack for more years than I can remember. We grew up together in St.John. The "Decker" boys were all good guys! We crossed paths thru the years generally him some gig. I am very sad to hear this. A wonderful life taken too soon.

Jack was an outstanding coach and a wonderful man. He taught my boys so much. We met him as the coach for our boys during so many years of being Tri-town Raiders and he became out friend. May you rest in peace and comfort, Jack. You will forever be remembered in our family.

Dear Leisa, Jake & Monica, It has been years since our St. John Baseball days and with life taking us in different ways we have lost touch. However, our memory of Jack's kind heart, his love of kids and his family have stayed with us. We think of all of you fondly and at this moment pledge our prayers for you and your family in this time of great loss. May God hold you close and bring back all the great memories to hold onto to keep you warm. With most sincere sympathy and care, Chuck, Kim, Heather, Chris & Sean Hall

Our sincere condolences to Leisa, Jake Monica and the rest of the family. I am still at a loss of words, Jack could not have had a more loving wife or family. He fought and held on for you all. I do not know why God wanted Jack but he needed him as an Angel, to watch over his family or to do other things, he will always be there in your heart, mind and soul. All Out Love to You. He will be greatly missed, and more so by you, his family. Memories will stay with you forever. XOXO Tracy and Ron

I was the League Commisioner at the Tri Town Raiders. I met Jack in 1999 when he first started coaching my kids. I had 5 kids play through the program and I think almost all of them were coached by him . In the 13 or so years I voluntered at the football field I never once heard Jack say anything bad or unkind about a kid. Even when I was frustrated with a player or parent Jack would come up to me , put his hand on my arm then do that thing he did with his fingers through his hair and just laugh about it. My best memory of Jack was one long long Sunday of football games he was asked to go up into the announcers booth and help call the game, by then it was 9 or 10 at night and we had been there since early morning. As the final game was winding down some sort of delay occurred and it was just silent for five minutes, total silence. All of a sudden we all heard Jack start singing over the microphone and PA system, it was some oddball song and he adlibbed a lot of it but by the time he was through everyone there was laughing hysterically. That's what Jack did he made people feel better about themselves. My 2 oldest boys knew Jack well, they played for him and their friends played for him. I would bet over half the kids that went through Tri Town pop warner and then onto high school football had the privilege of being coached by Jack. He touched so many lives in a positive way his family should always remember that and be incredibly proud. I am saddened by our loss but feel great joy when I think back on our many many chats and interactions. We are all better for our time with Jack.

Jack was a good dude often up to mischief in high school, but he was never, never unkind. He was "one of the guys" but would stop others if they went too far in their shenanigans. He had the biggest hands, a ready laugh & smile and a knack for sizing up people, teachers or peers. As Hemingway once said about what it takes to be a good writer, Jack had a built-in, shockproof, [bull]shit detector. My condolences to all his family and friends.
