William Allen, age 70 of Griffith, passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at Munster Community Hospital. He is survived by his sisters; Susan (Ivan) Chermel, Linda Saturday, Joanne (Steve) Tomczak, step brother Dennis (Lisa) Wiman and his uncle Ronald (Sharyl) Hughes. As well as his nephews and nieces; Natalie, Matthew, Amanda, Quinn, & Nathan and his great nephews; Mason & Parker. He is preceded in death by his mother; Patricia Wiman. Bill was a generous and loving person and will be missed by all.
He graduated from Gavit High School in 1973. He worked as a Security Guard for St. Margarets Hospital and a Crane Operator for Inland Steel. As a teen, he loved to play pool, go bike riding and go fishing on several local lakes. Later in life, he enjoyed fishing, crossword puzzles, playing on a Scrabble team with a Senior group, watching old sitcoms and browsing flea markets looking for unique items for himself and others.
A celebration of life for family and friends will be held on Friday, February 21st, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. till 6:00 p.m. at White Funeral Home, located at 921 W. 45th Avenue, Griffith, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association (heart.org) and the American Diabetes Association (diabetes.org) in memory of William J. Allen.
