Walter Sobczak Jr. “Sonny” age 74 of Lowell, Indiana passed away on Monday January 3, 2022. Wally passed away with his loving wife Tammy and cousin Linda by his side. He is survived by his wife Tammy and sons Jason Sobczak, Jonathan Sobczak, Deputy Sheriff Daniel Sobczak and stepson Johnathan “Stetson” (Stephanie) Sabaitis; grandchildren Matthew, Kenneth, Justin, Joshua, Rachael and step grandchildren Jaxson and Cruz. Wally is also survived by his brother Ronald; sisters Kathy, Debbie, Karen and Cindy and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews; special sister-in-law Cathy Haltmar for helping with his care. Many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law all whom he loved dearly.
Wally is preceded in death by his parents Mary nee Budnyk and Walter Sobczak Sr. and mentor Uncle Nick Budnyk, sisters Barbara Herr and Phyliss Ramano.
Wally was in the Army and served his country as a Medic from 1966-1968 with great pride. Wally was a General Contractor at S&S Carpenter Contractors, who built homes, churches, businesses, and Youth Centers for over 40 years along side his two sons, Jason, and Jonathan. He loved to build his wife Tammy whatever she wanted. Wally was an excellent Gardner he grew great flowers and vegetables. His passion was hunting and fishing with his buddies Chuck, Ronny, and John. As a Harley man he loved his bike. Wally loved his kids. Always known to have Oreo’s for the little ones. He Never met a pet that didn’t love him. His smile was infectious, and his blue eyes always sparkled. Wally “Uncle Sonny” will be forever missed by his family and friends. He wants you all to know he loved you all.
Memorial services will be held on Sunday January 23, 2022, at White Funeral Home located at 921 W. 45th (Glen Park Avenue) Griffith beginning at 6:30 with Pastor Tony Williams officiating. Friends may meet with the family on Sunday January 23, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at White Funeral Home.
