Trinidad S. Castillo

Trinidad S. Castillo, age 94, of Gary, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2022.  She is survived by her children: Rudy (Grace) Castillo, Robert Castillo, Rick (Rosa) Castillo, Ruben (Hilda) Castillo, Bertha (Navin) Garcia, Roger (the late Sylvia) Castillo, Marie (the late Robert) Moncada, and two grandchildren she raised as her own: John (Veronica) Castillo and Crystal Mendez. Additionally, she is survived by 17 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren; her brothers and sisters; Sal (Linda) Suarez, Theresa (Jesse) Carrillo, Larry (Suzanna) Suarez, and Carmen (Frank) Salomon. She was preceded in death by her parents: Juan and Carmen; her son: John Castillo; five brothers and two sisters.

The Funeral Service will be on Friday, December 16, 2022, at 12:30 P.M. at White Funeral Home located at 921 W. 45th (Glen Park) Ave. Griffith with Father Theodore Mens officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville. Friends may meet with the family on Friday, December 16, 2022, from 10:00 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. at White Funeral Home.

Trina was a loving mom, grandmother, and sister. Hardworking and resilient, she was always willing to lend a hand to those in need. Trina was a wonderful cook and insisted that no one leave her home hungry. She was renowned throughout Northwest Indiana for her delicious tamales. She was an active member of Holy Rosary Church, where she enjoyed volunteering until they closed. Trina loved playing loteria and bingo. Above all else she enjoyed spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew her.
