Thomas A. Perry

Thomas A. Perry (Tom) age 59 of Griffith, IN passed away peacefully on Friday, May 4, 2018, with his loved ones by his side. He is survived by his children Tabitha (Bryant) Anderson, Ashley Perry, and Logan Perry; mother Joan Perry; brothers Phil (Trudy) Perry, Dale (Linda) Perry; sisters Ruth Perry, Carol Perry, Jane (Ruben) Guzman; his many nieces and nephews; close friends Ron Dembowski, Andy Nevill, Willy Bellmore, Dale Klemoff, Bobby Frankovich, and by his Husky, Sadie. He was preceded in death by his father William Perry.

Tom was born on June 11, 1958. He was raised in Hammond, IN. He was a graduate of Donald E. Gavit Junior/Senior High School, Class of 1976. In his career, Tom was an employee of Wonder Bread Bakery & Hostess in Hodgkins, IL. He was a member of the Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers International Union; he retired in 2005. 

Tom was, first and foremost, a proud and devoted father to his three children. He was a friend to many. He had personal nicknames for all! Although he looked intimidating to some, he had a heart of gold. His vibrant, contagious spirit touched the lives of everyone who was fortunate enough to know him. People gravitated to him. Tom could make you smile and laugh, even on your worst days. He was a comedian, a critic, and wasn’t afraid to tell it like it is. He loved to talk, but always offered his ear to listen. Tom’s passions included riding his Harley, cooking for family and friends, and going antiquing.

A Celebration of Tom’s life will be held at a later date.
