Shirley Diane Sharp, age 84, was called home to be with parents Herman and Fern Sharp as well as her brother, Ronal, on Tuesday, May 30, 2023. What a glorious day when she was reunited with her Savior. She is survived by her sister Karen (Tom) Frangis, sister-in-law Ann (late Ronal) Sharp, and her many beloved nieces and nephews.
Diane graduated from Crown Point High School, Class of 1957 and had a career at First National Bank of East Chicago, where she retired as an Assistant Manager of the Crown Point branch. After retiring, she took a few other positions, such as Secretary at Allied Realty and enjoyed helping out at her sister’s Dairy Queen in Cedar Lake.
Diane was a member of the Highland Nazarene Church, also attended services at the Range Line Church in Hebron and was a lifelong devoted servant of God. She also belonged to the B.P.W. (Business Professional Women). Diane loved to be in the kitchen, cooking and baking, and spent most of her time finding and trying new recipes. Delivering goodies to her family and friends always brought her great joy.
Although Aunt Diane has left this world, her spirit will live on through the hearts of everyone she touched with her love, kindness, and generosity. She was a matriarch of the family, and is truly loved and will be dearly missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 4, 2023 beginning at 3:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church located at 352 S. Main St., Crown Point, IN with Pastor Mark Wilkins officiating.
Friends may visit with the family beginning 2:00 p.m. till the time of the service at First United Methodist Church.
