Shirley M. Jaworski

Shirley Meridith Jaworksi (nee Strickland) of Highland, passed away on February 1, 2023, at the age of 89, surrounded by her loved ones.

Aunt Shirley as she was known by all is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Henry Jaworski; sister: Aridith Minch; nieces & nephews: Randall (Danette) Strickland, Arlyn (David) Hurley, Brian Minch, Kim Suroviak; great-nieces & nephews: Janele (Evan) Reynolds, Scott (Elizabeth) Hurley, Katelyn Gum-Sanchez, Brandon (Sara Kish) Gum; Great-great nieces and nephews: Kayden, Yasmeen and Jesus Gum, AJ and Isiah Sanchez, Everett and Juliet Reynolds.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents: George and Cora Strickland, brother: George F. Strickland; nephew George F. Strickland Jr.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 6, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, in Highland IN, with Fr. Edward Moszur officiating. Burial will follow at St. John/ St. Joseph Cemetery in Hammond, IN.

Visitation will be held Monday February 6, 2023, at 9:45 a.m. until time of service at Our Lady of Grace Church.

Shirley married Henry Jaworski on July 9th, 1960. They enjoyed their life traveling the world. She worked at Youngstown Sheet and Tube in the payroll department, retiring after 34 years of dedicated service. Shirley was full of life; she enjoyed dancing and traveling. Her nieces and nephews brought her the greatest joy in which she would spend countless hours playing games and dressing up as a clown to bring a smile to all.
