Roy Earl Hein

Roy Earl Hein, age 83, of Valparaiso, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 15th, 2024.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Carol, daughter, Denise Babjak, grandchildren; Ashley (Bradley) Kiper, Bryan McCormack, Jeff (Heather) Hein, Lainy Babjak, Lynnex Hein, and Hunter Hein, great-grandchildren; Landyn Spencer, Gavin Spencer, Maverick Kiper, and Taylor Hein.

Roy was preceded in death by his son, Jeff (Suzie) Hein and his parents, Earl and Verna Hein.

Cremation was chosen and there are no services scheduled at this time.

Roy was a devoted Christian man who always sought the good in others and welcomed strangers with open arms.  For many years, Roy was deeply involved in Jail Ministry in Kentucky. Roy was a longtime member of Grace Church in Portage, and most recently, Calvary Church in Valparaiso.

Family was of the utmost importance to Roy. He ensured that the needs of his children and grandchildren always came before his own.

In his free time, Roy enjoyed fishing, gardening, and tending to his extensive collection of house plants, some of which were exotic varieties.

Roy will be deeply missed by his loving family and all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
