It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Rosemary Osmulski, a cherished mother, grandmother, wife, sister, aunt, and friend, who left us peacefully on January 18, 2025.
Rosemary was born and raised in East St. Louis, Illinois, and spent her life devoted to her family, community, and faith. Known for her warmth, kindness, and generosity, she touched the lives of all who knew her, offering love and support to those around her.
A lifelong advocate for education and service, Rosemary was deeply involved in her community. She volunteered at St. Mary Church Family Services, was a strong supporter of the Western Days Festival for over 50 years and worked as a CASA advocate for children. Rosemary’s commitment to education was evident through her academic achievements, including earning a bachelor’s degree from St. Francis University and a master’s degree in education. She dedicated her career to teaching, impacting countless students at St. Michael’s School in Schererville, Indiana, and Lake Central High School in St. John, Indiana. In addition, she contributed to her community as a news correspondent for the Hammond Times.
Above all, Rosemary’s greatest joy was her family and pets. She poured her heart into supporting her six children and 11 grandchildren, always prioritizing their well-being and dreams. Her love for her family, unwavering faith, and ability to live life on her own terms left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
