Robert Burk, age 83, of Highland, passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2023.
He is survived by his son Mark Burk; father figure to Tricia (Kevin) Rys; grandchildren: Bobbie Jo (Justin) Michalowski, Vincent Sorbo, Alannah (Sean) Tunney, Melinda (Fiancé Nick Udchitz) Burk, and Mitchell Burk; great-grandchildren: Aurora Michalowski, Justin Michalowski Jr, Gracie Sorbo, Anna Sorbo, Vince Sorbo Jr, Haylee Sorbo; siblings: Dennis (Julie) Burk, Allen Burk, Joseph (Laura) Burk, and Charles (Debbie) Burk; former daughter-in-law Julie Burk.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Eleanor Burk, wife Joan Burk, daughter Patricia Sorbo, and brother Jerry Burk.
Robert was a loving husband and father. He was a proud grandpa and even prouder great-grandpa. After working for over 25 years at Sherwin Williams he enjoyed his retirement spending time with his family & friends, practicing his faith, watching Nascar, and collecting all things Coca-Cola. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church where he enjoyed playing dart ball and singing in the choir. When he wasn’t watching Nascar you would often find him listening to music and singing along.
Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at White Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, beginning at 12:00 NOON at White Funeral Home located at 921 W. Glen Park Ave. (45th Ave.) Griffith, IN with Pastor Bill Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Calumet City, Illinois.
