Richard Campagna

It is with tremendous sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Richard Campagna, lovingly known as “Chooch”. A man of strength, motivation and honor, Richard was born on September 18, 1973, and transitioned to a guardian angel on December 1, 2025, at the age of 52. Richard was a devoted husband, a proud and loving father, and a loyal friend whose presence made every room feel lighter with his larger-than-life personality.

A hardworking and highly respected Local 597 Pipefitter, Chooch brought dedication, skill and integrity to his craft for 27 years. He was also a natural coach and mentor - whether on the field, on the job, or in everyday life. Chooch had a gift for guiding others, offering steady wisdom, support, humor, and encouragement when it was needed most.

Richard is survived by his wife, Kimberly Wilusz-Campagna, and his children: Rocco, Joseph, Gianna, Gabrielle, and stepdaughter Kaylee. He is also survived by his brothers Frank (Theresa), Michael, and Christopher, along with many cherished aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews who looked up to him and loved him deeply.

Richard was preceded in death by his father, Frank Campagna, and his mother, Virginia Sobczak, whom he carried in his heart throughout life.

To his friends and coworkers, Richard was someone they could count on- reliable, generous, and deeply loyal. His impact on the many lives he touched will carry forward for years to come.

Richard’s life was defined by devotion to the people he loved, pride in his work, and a heart big enough to support anyone who needed him. He will be profoundly missed and forever remembered. A celebration of life will be planned for the new year.
