Richard J. Byrne

Richard J. Byrne age 93 of Dyer, Indiana passed away on Monday September 29, 2025. He is survived by his wife Mary; children Laura (Randy) Paluszak, Carolyn (Keith) Jacobs and Jennifer (Tim) Rosinko; his grandchildren Tyler (Kate) Paluszak, Megan Paluszak, Jordan Jacobs, Justin Jacobs and Brooke Rosinko, and by his sister Jean Ainley. He is preceded in death by his parents Clara Irene (nee Dewish) and Joseph Charles Byrne.

Funeral services will be held on Friday October 3, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. DIRECTLY at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church located at 500 Northgate Drive in Dyer, Indiana with Fr. Charles Niblick celebrating, inurnment will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois.

Friends may meet with the family on Thursday October 2, 2025, from 3:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m. at White Funeral Home located at 921 W. Glen Park (45th Ave) in Griffith.

Richard was a retired Claims Adjuster with Allstate Insurance Company after 33 years. He was a Korean War Army Veteran, and a graduate of Roosevelt University in Chicago, IL. Richard was an avid boater (owner of “Daddy’s Caddy”), and he was a life member of the Indiana Harbor Yacht Club, Calumet Harbor Yacht Club, U.S. Power Squadron, and the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. Richard was also an avid dog lover. He loved listening to music (the Beach Boys), and playing his guitar, Ukulele, and his Banjo.
