Paulita G. Rosa, lovingly known as “Cunda”, 87, of Crown Point, Indiana and formerly of East Chicago, Indiana entered her eternal rest on October 14, 2025, surrounded by peace and the love of her family. Born on January 15, 1938 in Gurabo, Puerto Rico, Paulita brought warmth and light to all who knew her. She was the youngest of five children of the late Ramon Flores and Toribia Rodriguez.
A woman of immense strength and grace, Paulita was larger than life-- outgoing, friendly, and always smiling. She devoted her life to faith, family, and hard work. After the passing of her beloved husband, Julio G. Rosa, Paulita worked tirelessly, often maintaining two jobs to provide for her family. Though she experienced much heartbreak with the passing of her husband Julio, her son Juilo (Junior), and daughter Lizette (Liza), Paulita’s strength and compassion never wavered. She embodied resilience and selflessness through every season of her life. Her dedication, perseverance, and love defined her journey.
Paulita was truly larger than life. She was outgoing, friendly, and always smiling. She found joy in simple pleasures--dancing to salsa music in her kitchen, taking drives through the countryside to admire grazing animals or deer crossing quiet roads. She also delighted in shopping and spending time with family and friends.
Paulita was a member of the Evangelistic Temple under the leadership of Bishop Frank and Sister Ruth Munsey.
Paulita leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Lillibet G. Escalante, granddaughter Julia B. Barrera, sister Viviana Flores, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Paulita is preceded in eternal rest by her loving husband Juilo G. Rosa, son Julio G. Rosa Jr. (Junior), daughter Lizette (Liza) Carrasquillo, brothers Joaquin Flores and Jesus Flores, and sister Agapita Cruz.
Paulita’s legacy is one of resilience, love, and faith. It is a testament to a life well lived and a spirit never dimmed.
