Myrtha E. Hayes

Myrtha E. Hayes, was born on June 23, 1941, and departed this

life on Thursday, September 15, 2022.  He was a native of Shiloh,

Alabama and was a resident of Allegan, Michigan for 24 years

after retiring from working at CTA in Chicago, Illinois.

Myrtha confessed Christ at an early age at Rock Springs

Presbyterian Church in Shiloh, Alabama. In his late teens, he

moved to Chicago, Illinois where he met and married Artis M.

Hayes.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ethel C. Hayes, his

father, Lloyd G. Hayes, and 5 siblings Bettie Hayes, Bruce Hayes,

Woodie Hayes, Eugene Hayes, Sr., and Mary McAlpine.

He leaves to cherish his memory a devoted wife, Artis M. Hayes;

two children Andre R. Hayes of Chicago, Illinois, and Valerie A.

Thomas of St. John, Indiana; two sisters: Beatrice Lago of

Magnolia, Alabama and Glynis Hall of San Antonio, Texas; two

brothers: Leon Hayes of Magnolia, Alabama, and Emanuel (Betty)

Carter of Mobile, Alabama; six grandchildren: Artesha (Kevin)

Hayes, Andre Hayes, Jr., Shanika (Corey) Cook, Kayla Thomas,

Savannah Glover, and Tayceon Parkman; 7ve great

grandchildren: Jazye Cook, Lilah Bowers, Aniyah Hayes, Sarai

Cook, and Lawson Bowers; and a host of nieces, nephews,

relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at 11:00 a.m.

at WHITE FUNERAL HOME located at 921 W Glen Park Ave. (45th Ave).

Burial will follow at Memory Lane Memorial Park in Schererville.

Friends may meet with the family on Saturday, October 1, 2022, from

9:00 – 11:00 a.m. at WHITE FUNERAL HOME in Griffith.
