Mildred "Millie" H. Santana

Mildred “Millie” H. Santana, age 55, of Highland passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2023. She is survived by her husband of 33 years Robert Santana; children: Steve (Nadine Krzyston) Santana and Selena (Carlos) Valle; granddaughter Mia Valle; brothers and sisters: Venancio Hernandez Jr., Jesus (Maria) Hernandez, Mita (Rafael) Ceja, Wanda (John) Bodouroglou, Daisy (Brett) Baffa, Teresa (Fred) Rooke, Luis Hernandez, Nelson (Rosa) Hernandez, and Orlando Hernandez.

She was preceded in death by her father Venancio Hernandez; mother Dionisia Hernandez; brother Audelitz Hernandez; and sister Myriam Thompson.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 11, 2023, beginning with additional visitation at 10:00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at St. James Catholic Church, located at 9640 Kennedy Ave. Highland, Indiana 46322 with Father Gregory Bim-Merle celebrating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Hammond. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, August 10, 2023, from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM at White Funeral Home.

Millie was a Deputy Clerk with the Lake County Clerk’s Office in the Marriage Department.

Millie was an amazing, selfless, beautiful woman. She showered her family with love, especially her granddaughter Mia. Millie was a devoted Catholic who told everyone, “God has a plan for me. Day by day, step by step, do not worry. I will see you again in paradise.”
