Michael William White

Michael William White, age 73, of Griffith, passed away on Saturday, July 5th, 2025.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Linda, children; Melissa M. (Matthew) Turner, Cassandra D. White, Michael J. White, grandchildren; Jacob M. Turner and Elyse G. Turner, mother, Lois Jane White, siblings; Linda Jean (Raymond) Hawkins, Thomas P. White, Donald K. (Valerie) White, Carolyn M. (Jeffrey) Dobis, Lois Jane (Raymond) Coto, Leah Ann (Joseph) Wintczak, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, Donald R. White.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, July 11th, 2025, beginning at 10:30 a.m. DIRECTLY at St. James the Less Catholic Church, located at 9640 Kennedy Ave., Highland, IN with Fr. Gregory Bim-Merle celebrating.

Friends may meet with the family on Thursday, July 10th, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at White Funeral Home, located at 921 W. Glen Park Ave. (45th Ave.) Griffith.

Michael retired from Youngstown Sheet & Tube (LTV Steel) in East Chicago. After retirement, Michael went on to becoming a bus driver for Merrillville, Griffith, and Munster School Systems. Michael was also a former employee with the Town of Griffith Parks Department.

Michael was an avid coin collector and enjoyed playing card games, chess, video games, and was a lifelong Chicago White Sox and Chicago Bears fan.

Michael will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
