Maudie J. (Summers) Harper

Maudie Jeanne Harper (nee Summers) born October 27, 1940 in Daviess County, Indiana died peacefully at her home on March 1, 2022.

She was the daughter of Gerald and Wilma Summers of Daviess County Indiana. She married Rex Harper on June 6, 1957 in Daviess County Indiana.

She leaves behind 10 children that came from their love. Nancy (Alan) Brazaitis, Rex (Sherry) Harper, Kevin (Betty) Harper, Sam (Kim) Harper, Gilbert (Polly) Harper, Doug (Alice) Harper, Roxanna Harper, and Joanna (Steve) Hilliker. From those children came 28 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind one sister Hyla (Tyler) Hughes, one brother Randy (Sheila) Summers, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband, one son Ritchie, 2 brothers Bob and Roger Summers, one sister Nyla Holbert, and one great granddaughter Rachel.

Services will be held on Monday March 7th , 2022 at 7:00 p.m. at White Funeral Home located at 921 W. 45th Ave. (Glen Park Ave.) Griffith, Indiana. Friends may meet with the family on Monday March 7th, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at White Funeral Home.

She loved being a cub scout den leader. She was a homemaker and a faithful member of Hammond Baptist Church. She also loved to play bingo and euchre.
