Marsha A. Hart

Marsha A. Hart, age 44, of Griffith, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2023. She is survived by her daughter Mercedes Hart-Darnell; mother Linda Hart; brothers: Sam (Kerri) Hart, Billy Hart, and David Hart; Aunts Michelle Hart and Nancy (Mike) Rutkowski; niece Tessa Hart; nephew Ben Hart; stepmother Sharon Hart; and many cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father Dale Hart; son Zackery Hart-Darnell; brother Brandon Hart; maternal grandparents Harry and Irene Dunmire; paternal grandparents Dale and Mabel Hart; cousin Corey Rutkowski and life partner Greg Darnell.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at 7:00 PM at White Funeral Home, located at 921 W. Glen Park (45th) Ave. Griffith, Indiana. Cremation will follow services. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, May 25, 2023, from 4:00 PM until the service begins at 7:00 PM at White Funeral Home.

Marsha was a very sweet person and loved by many people.  She enjoyed swimming and tanning each summer, always trying to have a darker tan than anybody else.  She enjoyed sitting on the rocking lawn chairs outside with Mercedes and just enjoying the outdoors.  Mercedes’ friends would come and talk with her often.  Marsha and Mercedes loved to go get manicures and pedicures together, always feeling and looking so good afterwards.  Marsha loved all animals, including dogs, birds, and especially Mercedes’ cat, Luna.  She always babied that cat, even though Luna did not hesitate to scratch her!  Marsha was an avid reader and enjoyed a variety of books and authors.  She also enjoyed drawing and painting pictures.  She loved Scrapbooking and taking pictures, especially of Mercedes.  Marsha enjoyed doing word puzzles and Sudoku puzzles and she could do them so quickly and accurately.  She was a former Table Games Dealer at Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, Indiana.  Marsha graduated from Griffith High School in 1997.  She will be missed by many, especially Mercedes.
