Maria Anaya

Maria Anaya, age 92, of Calumet City, Illinois passed away on Friday, April 7, 2023. She is survived by her children: Joe Anaya, Ofelia (Gaston) Martin, Ernesto (Susana) Anaya, Olivia Libby (Terry) Sandaker, Armando (Sherry) Anaya, Dalfina Campos, Amelia (Jim) Solorio, Juan Anaya; grandchildren: Marie (Eric) Santiago, Joseph (Sheri) Anaya, Veronica (Anthony) Livaudais, Alex Martin, Edward (Jennifer) Martin, Lorena (Zach) Martin, Ernie (Gladys) Anaya, Mike Anaya, Paul Anaya, Jesse (Donna) Anaya, Crystal Anaya, Kathy (David) Gonzalez, Brian (Rose) Sandaker, Connie (Tony) Crespo, Matthew Anaya, Eric (Maggie) Anaya, Pedro Campos, Francis (Hank) Jawhari, Jacob (Krista) Campos, Amanda Solorio, Jimmy Solorio; 42 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ernesto Anaya, her parents Julian and Julia Chavez; her sister Luisa; and daughter-in-law Grace Anaya.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 14, 2023, at 11:00 AM at All Saints Catholic Church located at 570 Sibley St. Hammond, Indiana, with Father Eduardo Malagon celebrating. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Calumet City, Illinois. Friends may meet with the family on Thursday, April 13, 2023, from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM at White Funeral Home located at 921 W. Glen Park (45th) Ave Griffith, Indiana.

Maria was a member of All Saints Catholic Church where she was a former choir member. She loved gardening and spending time with her family.
