Leo Paul Plawecki

Leo Paul Plawecki, age 86, of Hammond, passed away on Tuesday, February 18th, 2025.

He is survived by his sons, Scott Plawecki and Ronald (Kathryn Gulliver) Plawecki, and grandsons, Matthew (Rachel) Plawecki, Mark Plawecki.

Leo was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Pauline Plawecki, and wife of 62 years, Catherine.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 24th, 2025, beginning at 7:00 p.m. at White Funeral Home located at 921 W. Glen Park (45th Ave.) Griffith, with Fr. Theodore Mens officiating.

Cremation will follow the services.

Friends are invited to meet with the family on Monday, February 24th, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at White Funeral Home.

Leo retired from the Sheet Metal Union Workers’ Local 20.

Leo was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed going to local racetracks and watching sports, especially basketball on television. However, what gave him the most joy was going out and cheering on his grandsons at their soccer games as both players and later his grandson’s team as a coach.

Leo will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
