Lawana K (Grimmett) Paul

Lawana K. Paul, age 60, of Gary, passed away on Wednesday, August 27th, 2025.

She is survived by her husband of 26 years, James, children; Heather Roehr (Rick Perez), Christopher Roehr, Justin Roehr, James B. (Rebecca) Paul, grandchildren; Payton, Taylor, Austin Perez, and Addison Paul, sister, Michelle (Mike) Peterson, brothers, Dwayne Grimmett and Mike Grimmett, and several nieces and nephews.

Lawana was preceded in death by her parents, Darrell and Imogene Grimmett.

A Memorial Service will take place on Thursday, September 4th, 2025, beginning at 7:00 p.m. at White Funeral Home, located at 921 W. Glen Park Ave., Griffith, with Pastor Brandon Rukes officiating.

Friends may meet with the family on Thursday, September 4th, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at White Funeral Home.

Lawana was a former medical assistant, and she enjoyed drawing during her free time. Lawana is a deeply loved wife, mother and grandmother, whose life has been a quiet testament to strength, selflessness, and an unwavering good heart.

From the earliest days of her life, she has been someone who puts others before herself, not out of duty, but out of genuine care and compassion.

She was loved and will be missed by all.
