Lauretta J. (Roop) Batur

Lauretta J. Batur, age 84, formerly of Hammond, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2025. She is survived by her children: Judy (Chris) Artim, Robert Betustak, and Kym (John) Lozano, grandchildren: Lauren, Claire (Miguel Pinto), Kelsey, Emily (Jacob), Johnny (Karen), and Julian, great-grandchildren: Joseph, Hazel, Helena, Autumn, and Winnifred, great-great-grandchild: Seth, sister: Judie Fenstermaker, nieces: Joan, Janette, and Josie, honorary daughter: Rachel (Ken) Barlo and their son Kalan. Lauretta is preceded in death by her husband: Robert Batur, parents: Lorin and Doris Roop, and brother: Larry Roop.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at 7:30 PM at White Funeral Home in Griffith with Pastor Mitch Wright officiating.

Friends may meet with the family on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, from 4:00-8:00 PM at White Funeral Home, located at 921 W. Glen Park Avenue (45th Ave.) in Griffith, IN.

Lauretta loved the Chicago Bulls and was an avid reader, she especially loved Danielle Steel books. She loved doing word searches, tending to her garden, watching hummingbirds, and relaxing at her lake house.  Lauretta loved spending time with her family and will be greatly missed.
