Kathy R. Dunlap (née Bean) entered eternal rest on January 8, 2026, surrounded by the love she so freely gave throughout her life. She is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Frank D. Dunlap; her daughter, Virgie Urquidi; her son, Frank Dunlap II (Jessica); her treasured grandchildren, Krystal Cano (Carlos), Brandon Urquidi (Kelly), Kylie Dunlap, Ryan Dunlap, and Aubrie Dunlap; and her precious great-grandchildren, Carlos Cano Jr., Adriana Cano, Noah Cano, Olivia Cano, and Finan Urquidi. She is also survived by her loving brother and sisters, Jerry Hayes (Carol), Sheila Minton (Larry), and Mary Sarter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Irene and Millard “Jim” Bean, and her brothers and sisters.
Known lovingly as “Mimi,” Kathy lived a life deeply rooted in faith. Her relationship with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, guided her every step, and she passionately shared that faith with others through her words, actions, and unwavering trust in God. Her faith shone most brightly during her courageous seven-and-a-half year battle with cancer, which she faced with strength, grace, and steadfast hope.
Mimi’s devotion to her family was fierce and unconditional. She was a protector, a nurturer, and a constant source of encouragement and wisdom. Her guidance was given with love, her advice with sincerity, and her presence with peace. To her family, she was a gentle strength who eased worries and brought comfort during life’s hardest moments.
Kathy will also be remembered for her compassionate heart and her willingness to step in and help others without hesitation. She was bold, determined, and accomplished, yet always humble and generous. She will be deeply missed, but her family finds comfort knowing she is in the arms of Jesus.
