June W. Mastey

June W. Mastey age 80 of Griffith passed away on Thursday September 9th, 2021.

June left us on a beautiful sunny summer afternoon, by her choice, looking forward to the next life.  She left the world a better place than she found it, touched by her endless vivacity, wit, love, and care.  To bask in her presence left everyone lucky enough to know her, better off, happier, more fulfilled, than those who did not.  It goes without saying then, that she left many here to finish her work, hoping we can do as well.

June spent her entire career at Nipsco, which she loved, making many life-long friends.

She is survived by her sister; Susan Rushe of St. Augustine, FL, nieces; Dana (Paul) Keller of Carmel, IN, Denise Wilcox of Louisville, KY, Janie Wilcox of Indianapolis, IN, Audrey Rose Kemp, children Jim (Ivy) Mastey of Cedar Lake, IN, Jane (Dan) Cozadd of Arizona, and granddaughter/caregiver Donna (Jim) Herron of Cedar Lake, Indiana; 17 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren & 5 great-nieces and nephews.

June was preceded in death by her beloved husband John Mastey, her parents H.E. and Rose Wilcox of Highland, IN stepfather LaClaire Rushe of Gary, IN, brother Hughlene E. Wilcox (Mary) Spencer, niece Diane Pass, and children Jean (late Robert) Cox, John Mastey (Romy) Cedar Lake, and Joan (Charles) Murphy Portage.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday September 16th, 2021, beginning at 6:00 PM at WHITE FUNERAL HOME located at 921 W. 45th Avenue (Glen Park Ave.) Griffith with Pastor Michael Poole officiating. Cremation will follow the service.

Friends may meet with the family on Thursday September 16th, 2021, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at WHITE FUNERAL HOME.
