Joyce J. Lindsey (nee White), age 84 of Hobart, Indiana passed away peacefully surrounded by family Friday October 11, 2024. She is survived by her children Richard (Sandy) Lindsey, Bunnie Lindsey (Harry Jaconis) and Gary (Lori) Lindsey; grandchildren Jeremy (Natalie) Halton, Evie Gere (Nate Hildebrandt), Kimberly (Danny) LaBarge, Kayla (Keenan) Cleary, Nicholas Lindsey, Ryan (Amanda) Butler, Taylor Jaconis (Carlos Correa), Luke Jaconis, Jacob (Elena) Lindsey and Connor Lindsey; great grandchildren Scarlet, Elias, Stella, Louise, Marshall, Miles, Isabel, Ezequiel, Joseph, Emmanuel, Mila, Dennis, Camila and Calianna; sisters Martha Akin and Barbara (Jeff) Dye. She is also survived by her loyal and faithful puppy, Riley. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents Gilbert and Pearl White, her husband of 57 years Lowell R. Lindsey, and her siblings Leon, Thelma, Robert, Elizabeth, Carolyn and Larry.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 18, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Highland First Church of the Nazarene, 9330 Kennedy Avenue, Highland, Indiana with Pastor Nathan Bucholz officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville, Indiana.
Friends are invited to meet with the family Thursday, October 17, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at White Funeral Home, 921 W. Glen Park Avenue (45th Avenue) in Griffith, Indiana. There will be additional visitation at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service Friday morning at the church.
Joyce was a member of Highland Church of the Nazarene and former member of Winamac Church of the Nazarene and First Church of God in Munster. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who was always available to her family. Her strong Christian faith guided her to offer encouragement, support, wisdom and love in abundance. She was cherished by family and friends alike and was a dedicated caregiver to many in her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness and strength.
