Joseph J. Walczak Sr.

Joseph J. Walczak Sr. age 93 of Highland, formerly of Indiana Harbor passed away on Friday, October 5, 2018.

He is survived by his son; Joseph (Kathy) Walczak Jr. of Griffith; daughter; Angeline M. Walczak of Highland; three grandchildren; Fred of Merrillville, Jeff of Griffith, and Michelle of Monon, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 51 years, Angeline H. Walczak; beloved son; Theodore R. Walczak; sisters; Irene (Mike) Mucha and Ann (Joe) Furman; and by his parents John and Stella Walczak.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at 10:00 AM at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in East Chicago with Monsignor John Siekierski celebrating. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may meet with the family on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at White Funeral Home located at 921 W. 45th Avenue Griffith.

Joseph was a WWII Army Veteran, a member of the American Legion Post 369, and a member at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. He was a former member of St. John Cantius Catholic Church in East Chicago, where he was very active in the church and its activities. He retired from Standard Forge.
