Joseph F. Rossi, age 73, of Griffith, passed away on Saturday, December 28th, 2024.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Diane, children, Anthony (Rachel) Rossi and Angela (Thomas) McCoy, expected granddaughter, Odessa. Siblings, Therese Rossi, Anne Rossi, James Rossi Jr., nieces Kristin Miller-Hoffmann and Gianna Hartman, nephew, Donald Rossi, great-nieces Elyse and Adele Hoffmann.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, James and Dorothy Rossi, and sister Bernadette Miller.
Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 4th, 2025, beginning at 10:00 a.m. DIRECTLY at St. Mary’s Catholic Church located at 525 N. Broad St., Griffith with Fr. Keith Virus celebrating. Inurnment will be at St. John-St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Hammond at a later date.
Friends are invited to meet with the family on Friday, January 3rd, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at White Funeral Home located at 921 W. Glen Park Ave. (45th Ave.) Griffith.
Joseph graduated from Mount Carmel High School, Class of 1969 and earned his degree from Calumet College in 2012. Retired from LTV Steel in 2000 as an electrician.
Joseph was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Griffith, being involved in the Mens Club, chairman of the Squirrel Tooth Casino at the Western Days Festival. Joseph was a leader of the Boy Scouts and a proud member of KAMHA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Providence Hospice, Mt. Carmel High School, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, or to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation.
