John B. Wiseman, age 97, of Hammond, passed away on Wednesday, May 7th, 2025.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Virgilija Wiseman, children; John M. (Theresa) Wiseman, Garry (late Bonnie) Wiseman, grandchildren; Daniel (Amy) Wiseman, Rachel (late Andy) Clapp, Sean (Danna) Wiseman, great-grandchildren; Alyssa, Nathan, Joshua, Julia, Caleb, Nicholas, Michael, Holly, Maxwell, stepdaughter, Sandra (Rolandas) Kuokstiene, step- grandchildren; Odeta and Orinta, step-great-granddaughter, Teja, sister, Edna (late Roy) Cooper, and sister-in-law, Lottel Gauglitz.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Mack and Edith Wiseman, first wife, Mary Jane, brother, Lloyd, grandmother, Nancy Dolen, In-laws, Max and Marie Gauglitz, stepson, Tadas, brother-in-law, Gunter Gauglitz, granddaughter, Vanessa, and niece, Karin.
John was an Army Veteran and retired from Inland Steel after 41 years. He served as Vice President for S.O.A.R., Chapter 31-1, and was a former officer for Local Union 1010. John was also a member of the Hessville American Legion Post 232.
John attended Cloudland High School but later transferred to East Elizabethton High School where he graduated. John went on to attend college at East Tennessee State College.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 21st, 2025, beginning at 1:00 p.m. at White Funeral Home, located at 921 W. Glen Park Ave. (45th Ave.) Griffith, with Fr. Charles Niblick officiating.
Entombment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crown Point.
Friends are invited to meet with the family on Wednesday, May 21st, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at White Funeral Home.
