Joanne E. (Niprikas) Moricz

Joanne E. Moricz age 81 of East Chicago, passed away on Thursday December 7, 2023. She is survived by her husband of 61 ½ years Alojzy “Ben”; children Andrew (Maria) Moricz and Steven  (Glenda) Moricz; grandchildren Marco (Jenna) Moricz, Stephanie Moricz, Drewski (Stefany) Moricz, Benjamin Moricz, Maria (Kaleb) Mount, and Russell Moricz; great grandchildren Cayden Poturalski, Mateo Moricz, Camila Moricz, and Marcelo Moricz

Joanne was preceded in death by her parents Steven and Joanna Niprikas, and by her sister Carol Reich.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday December 13, 2023, at 11:30am at St. Mary Catholic Church with her cousin Fr. Michael Yadron celebrating. Cremation will follow the services. Friends may meet with the family on Wednesday December 13, 2023, from 10:30-11:30am at St. Mary Catholic Church located at 525 N. Broad St. in Griffith.

Joanne was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Griffith and enjoyed crocheting, cooking her family favorite chili, listening to Shania Twain, watching General Hospital and football (especially Patrick Mahomes), and playing puzzle games. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and she will be sorely missed.
