JoAnn Harbit

JoAnn Harbit age 86 of Crown Point, passed away on Tuesday October 21, 2025. She is survived by her husband of 65 years Richard; children Lisa (Matt) Osojnicki, Rick (Pam) Harbit, and Linda (Steve) Seegers; grandchildren Rick (Brittany) Harbit, Matthew (Kyli) Osojnicki, Danny (Katelyn) Osojnicki, Brittney (Steve) Otten, Ashlyn (Nathan Ballas) Wheeler, Drew (Lauren) Wheeler, and TJ Osojnicki; great grandchildren Savannah, Wyatt, Mackenzie, Olivia, Briley, Matthew, Austin, Ashley, Brooklyn, and James, brother Paul (Wendy) Keaton, and by her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Collin and Vivian Keaton, her sister Barbara Bassett, and by her brother George Keaton.

Friends may meet with the family on Sunday October 26, 2025, from 1:00-4:00pm at Geisen Funeral Home located at 606 E. 113th Ave. Crown Point, Indiana

Funeral services will be held on Monday October 27, 2025, at 10:00am at Geisen Funeral Home with John P. Starr officiating. Burial will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, Indiana.

JoAnn graduated from Merrillville High School in 1957. She was a member of Adventure Christian Church and former member of Southlake Christian, and the Lake County Saddle and Bridle Club. She was a former bus driver with the Crown Point Community School Corporation, and she graduated from IUN School of Nursing in 1985. She loved golfing and snow birding in Sebring, Florida. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hospice of the Calumet Area. White Funeral Home in Griffith is in charge of JoAnn’s arrangements.
