Jesse Willis Crabtree, age 69, of Hammond, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2026.
Jesse was originally from Loudon, Tennessee. He spent most of his life in Chicago, Illinois, before settling in Hammond, Indiana in his later years. He proudly served his country as a United States Marine Corps veteran and was a dedicated member of Union Local #578 Piledrivers in Chicago.
Jesse was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to his trade. Outside of work, he found joy in the simple things in life. He loved fishing, riding his Harley, and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren, who meant the world to him.
He is survived by his children, Jason, Racheal, and Katie; his siblings, Dora, Tracy, and Ron; and his beloved grandchildren, Alexandra, Arianna, Olivia, Piper, Christian, Kratos, Carson, Cecelia, Vincent, and Joshua. He is also survived by his nephews, Michael, Toby, and Lonnie, along with many extended family members and loved ones.
He was preceded in death by his dad, Lawrence (aka Buddy) and mother Fayda; his stepfather, Toby; his siblings, Tim, Troy, Theresa, Sheila, and his niece, Lacy. Along with grandparents; and many more loved aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Jesse will be remembered as a loving and devoted son, brother, uncle, dad, and granddad. His presence, strength, and love for his family will be deeply missed.
Services will be private.
