Jacqueline Thorpe

Jacqueline A. “Jackie” Thorpe, age 65, of Valparaiso, passed away on April 3, 2026.

Jackie is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, Don; her son, Justin (Ashlee Dennis) Thorpe; her parents, Antoinette “Toni’ and Robert Baumer; her sister, Melissa “Missy” (Tom Grimmer) Bridegroom; her niece, Stephanie (Chuck) Henderson; her nephew, Bobby (Mindy Patrick) Bridegroom; along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, Edwin.

Jackie was a graduate of Griffith High School and was a dedicated former custodian at Chesterton High School. She found joy in scrapbooking, flower gardening, and watching science fiction movies. Jackie also loved spending time at the lake house and enjoyed visits to the Indiana Harbor Yacht Club. Above all, she cherished her family deeply.

Friends may meet with the family at White Funeral Home (921 W. Glen Park Ave. Griffith, IN) on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A celebration of Jackie’s life will be held later this summer. Service with Pastor Brandon Rukes will be held at 7PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society.
