Helen E. (Lane) Quillen

Helen E. Quillen age 78 of Portage, formerly of Black Oak passed away on Monday November 15, 2021. She is survived by her children Keith (Brenda) Quillen, Rhonda (Paul Zimmerman) Quillen, and Tina (Kelly) Elston; grandchildren James, Brandon, Anthony, Nathan, Keeley, Tyler, Ashton, Joseph, Jesslyn, Jennifer, and Michael; great grandchildren Zoey, Isabella, Lula, and Maverick; sister Judy (Late Gene) Perry; and brothers Bruce (Sandy) Lane, Buddy (Jimmy) Lane, David (Debrah) Lane, Bobby Lane, and Tommy (Tiffany) Lane. Helen is preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Reba Lane, brother Ronald Lane, and Husband James Quillen.

Funeral services will be held on Friday November 19, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. at White Funeral Home located at 921 W. Glen Park Ave. (45th Ave.) in Griffith, Indiana with Larry Westmorland officiating. Cremation will follow the services. Friends may meet with the family on Friday November 19, 2021 at White Funeral Home from 4-7 p.m.

Helen was a retired newspaper carrier for the Times Newspaper for over 23 years. She enjoyed baking, playing Bunco, visiting people in the nursing homes on Thursdays and Saturdays, being “Mom’s Taxi”, working in her garden and flower beds. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the family.
