Gregory Paul Potosky

Gregory Paul Potosky, age 60, of Merrillville, Indiana passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2023. He is survived by his father Daniel of Griffith, sisters Catherine (Tony) Perrin of Highland IN and Patricia (John) Riley of Carmel IN, and by brothers Danny (Debbie) of Jackson MI, Larry, Jerry (Kellie) and Robert, the latter three all of Hobart IN, and many nieces and nephews. Greg is preceded in death by his mother Norma Jeanne.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, September 29, 2023 at 11:00 AM DIRECTLY at St. Mary Catholic Church, located at 525 N. Broad St. Griffith, Indiana with Father Theodore Mens and Father John Zemelko celebrating. Friends may meet with the family on Friday, September 29, 2023 at St. Mary Catholic Church from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM when the service begins.

Greg was an avid sports fan. He was a manager for the football, basketball, and track teams in high school at Griffith, and served as a statistician for many years at both Griffith and Calumet High School. It was during basketball practices he would earn the nickname 'Radar' for his uncanny ability to make half-court shots. Greg was a member of the Knights of Columbus Marquette Council #3631 in Griffith where he served as Grand Knight from 1999-2000 and loved to help out with multiple functions and events. He was also a former bingo chairman for St Mary's Church in Griffith as well as for its annual Western Days Festival. Greg was a former employee of the United States Postal Service.
