Gregory Francis

Gregory Francis, age 76, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 5, 2026.

Gregory is survived by his beloved wife, Janis Francis; his children, Richard (Casey) Francis, April (Jason) Purcell, and inherited children Amy (Kevin) Trezak, Brad (Jodi Kateiva) Joseph , and Amber (Colin) Carmichael.

He was a proud Papa to Izaiah Purcell, Kaylie Horsley, Jayden Purcell, John (Jessica Adkins) Trezak, Geddy (Caitlyn Klos) Trezak, Lindee Trezak, Rocket Kateiva, Cameron Carmichael, and James Carmichael. Gregory is also survived by his brother, Jeff (Irene) Francis. He was also a wonderful uncle to many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Clare Francis; his wife, Diane Francis; and his brother, Paul Francis.

Gregory retired after 34 years from Crown Corr in Gary. He was also a member of Three Seasons Float Company, where he enjoyed building parade floats. In his free time, Gregory loved golfing, bowling, and cruising in his Corvette.

Anyone who knew Greg knew he never met a stranger. He had a gift for making everyone feel welcome and was affectionately known as "Papa" to all.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday July 8th, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at White Funeral Home located at 921 West 45th (Glen Park) Avenue Griffith, Indiana.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday July 9th, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at White Funeral Home, with Brandon Rukes officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Lane Cemetery in Schererville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Cal's Angels, or a charity of the donor's choice.
