Georgia Ann Evers Wiedeman Blue, age 90, of Griffith, IN passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2024. Our “Sweet Georgia Peach”
She is survived by her sister, Janice Kay (late Stanley) Brinker and Brenda (late Byron) Evers. Children; Teresa Wiedeman, Glenn (Charlotte) Wiedeman, Stewart (Rena) Wiedeman, grandchildren; Rachael (Mark) Hornyak, Connie (Matthew) Caldwell, Bonnie (Brian) Johnson, Mary (Andrew) Mix, Trena Wiedeman, Georgia (Chris) Bowles, Aubrey (Bridget) Wiedeman, Paul Wiedeman, Sean Wiedeman, and Camille. Great Grand Children; Regan, Kyle, James, Ada, Koda, Michael, Alexcis, Kegan, Quintin. Great Great Grand Children; Alora, Jaxxon, Nephalle, Viola, Trystan, Ember and Jackson. Georgia Ann was also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She loved her family more than any of us can imagine.
Georgia was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Florence Evers, husbands, Earl Herman Wiedeman and Ralph Blue, her Son James Paul Wiedeman, and brothers, Byron and Charles Evers.
Georgia Ann worked as a Secretary for Bonifield Truck Lines in Metropolis and Smith Victor in Griffith. Georgia was a member at Immanuel United Church of Christ Highland, IN and loved her church family deeply. A few of her many interest were mental health, painting, she was a lover of all thing’s nature, walks at the IN Dunes State Park, she enjoyed bird watching and had a natural green thumb. Special joys were working with her Brother Byron on the Book "Evers Early Settlers in the South", many years of hard work and a beautiful trip to Key West with her sister Janice Kay.
Georgia enjoyed shopping trips and going out to eat. She loved cheesecake and Southern BBQ when she was in the South. She also enjoyed going back and visiting her family home; Metropolis, Illinois the home of Superman, the Kentucky Dam, and Patti’s Settlement. She enjoyed ballroom dancing and spending time with her family she loved so very much.
Her wisdom and giftedness will be missed as she has gone ahead to continue serving our Lord.
Our world was a much brighter place with her in it.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 23rd, 2024 beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the Immanuel United Church of Christ located at 2201 Azalea Dr., Highland, IN.
Friends are invited to meet with the family on Saturday, November 23rd, 2024 starting at 10:00 a.m. until time of the service at the Immanuel United Church of Christ.
