Garry St. Martin passed on January 18th after a short and unexpected medical occurrence. He was Born November 29, 1960, at St. Margaret’s in Hammond, son of Richard and Barbara (Kuhn) St. Martin, and third of four children. He grew up and lived his whole life in Merrillville. As a teen he enjoyed learning and performing magic tricks for his friends and family, and putting on performances at parties and events. Always up for a good boardgame he was quite competitive with anyone he could challenge. Garry graduated from Merrillville High School 1979, where he was a member of the Vocal Teens and Thespians. Participating in Ross Summer Musicals and Center Stage Studio productions for decades, not only performing many parts but also constructing sets. Garry married a fellow Pirate, Gina Rendina in 1988 and had one son, Clayton. Garry opened St. Martin Studios and ran a successful photography business for many years. The skills he learned from the theater served him well as he was able to be creative in constructing props and settings for his studio. He became a Munster Band Booster and helped build elaborate props and illusions for the Marching Band and supported his son (who he was extremely proud of) in the Purdue All-American Marching Band. After closing the business Garry moved onto marketing and sales, most recently with Synchrony Financial.
Garry loved to travel and had a passion for anything Disney. He visited Disney World as often as possible, most recently this past November with his wife, and son. A memory they will always cherish.
Garry was always ready to help friends and family whenever asked. He always wore a smile, had a good sense of humor and a witty comeback on hand. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
Garry is survived by wife Gina, son Clayton and his wife Katelyn. He is also survived by siblings Gordon (Pamela Sue) St. Martin, Diane (Dennis) Palkovich, Debbie (Dennis) Harvoth, and by brothers-in-laws William (Angie) Rendina and Vincent (Rita) Rendina.
