Esther Martinez

Esther Martinez age 92 of Hammond, Indiana passed away on February 12th, 2022. She is survived by her children; Alfredo (Elena) Martinez Jr., Patricia Martinez, Ruth Martinez, Louis (Geri) Martinez, Norma Martinez (Arcangel), Edgar (Alicia) Martinez, Benjamin (Irma) Sandoval, and Pedro Sandoval;  grandchildren; Marci Martinez, Alfredo Martinez, Antonio Martinez, Yesenia Martinez, Michael Silvas Jr., Tanisha (Israel Medina) Silvas, Joseph Silvas, Eric (Lulu) Martinez, Mariceli Madera, Jessica Martinez, Pablito Madera, Allysha Martinez, Alyse Martinez, Leslie Martinez, Luis Martinez Jr., Arcangel (Jenny) Rivera, Jazmin Rivera, Anissa Rivera, Sydney Martinez, Edgar Martinez, Benjamin (Lisa Marie) Sandoval, José M. Esther is preceded in death by her husband Alfredo Martinez Sr.; her sons Jose Verástegui and Abel Martinez; and her great great grandson Angel Silvas.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday February 17, 2022, at 5:50pm at White Funeral Home & Cremation Services located at 921 W. 45th avenue Griffith, Indiana with Brother Noel Arce officiating. Cremation to follow services. Friends may meet with the family on Thursday February 17, 2022, from 3:00pm-7:00pm at White Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

Esther was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved to have big family dinners for all her children and grandchildren at her house when she was younger. She had a green thumb and was a great cook. Esther belonged to the: Kingdom of Jehovah’s Witnesses-Highland Indiana. They took Esther under their wing and made sure to get her to church and activities since Esther did not drive. Esther will be greatly missed by all.
