Edward John Chaffer

Edward John Chaffer, age 87, of Griffith, passed away on Monday, August 21, 2023. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Landa; children: Debra (Al), Sue Ellen, Theresa (Michael), Michele (Wray), Tony (Dana), Brett (Lisa) and Ryan (Jaclyn); numerous Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren; sister Mary Ellen Thomas; many nieces and nephews; four-legged companion Murphy and several kittens. He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Josephine Chaffer, children Vicky and Eddie, and granddaughter Sarah.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 25, 2023, at 7:00 PM at WHITE FUNERAL HOME, located at 921 W. Glen Park (45th) Ave. Griffith, Indiana 46319. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Friday, August 25, 2023, from 3:00 PM until the service begins at 7:00 PM at WHITE FUNERAL HOME. Burial will be on Saturday August 26, 2023, at 10:00am DIRECTLY at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, Indiana.

Ed was a retired Teamster with Local Union 142. He loved horses and rescuing animals. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to ABRA Angels in Crown Point or any animal rescue or a charity that helps children.
