Donald L. Bean

Donald L. Bean, age 76, formerly of Hammond, passed away on Monday, February 16, 2026. He is survived by his children: Sheri (Steve) Anderson, Dan (Sandra) Thompson, Don (MaryTherese) Bean, and David (Cindy) Bean, grandchildren: Jonathan Speck, Colin Anderson, Katie Anderson, Jessica Love, Tony Thompson, Meagan Volk, Joshua Marshall, Melina Marshall, Matilda Bean, Molly Bean, Madison Bean, Kaylee Bean, and Allison Bean, great-grandson: Messiah Anderson.

Donald is preceded in death by his wife: Loretta, and parents Lester and Elizabeth Bean.

Friends may meet with the family on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at White Funeral Home, located at 921 W. Glen Park Ave. (45th Ave.) in Griffith.

An inurnment will take place on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at 2:00 PM. Those that will be joining the family will meet directly at the cemetery. 

Donald, a retired United States Army veteran, served as a helicopter gunner during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed cheering for both the Chicago Bears and the Chicago Cubs. In his free time, he liked watching programs about military history and related topics.
