Dolores M (Szot) Lomelin

Dolores M. Lomelin, age 84, of Griffith, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2024.

She is survived by her sons; Thomas (Sharon) Murchek, Tony (Shane) Lomelin, grandchildren; Samantha (Steven) Peller, Tim (Sandra) Murchek, Kylie Lomelin, Nathan Lomelin, Ava Lomelin, great-grandchild; Winnie Peller, sisters; Bonnie (John) Gregor, Elaine Carpenter, sisters-in-law; Barbara Szot and Chris Szot, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dolores was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Bernice Szot, husband, Jess, siblings; Frank and Thomas, and granddaughter Stefanie Murchek.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, beginning at 10:00 a.m. DIRECTLY at St. Mary’s Catholic Church located at 525 N. Broad St., Griffith, with Fr. Theodore Mens celebrating. Burial to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville.

Friends may meet with the family on Monday, June 17, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at White Funeral Home located at 921 W. Glen Park Ave., Griffith.

Dolores retired from Kmart in Griffith and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Griffith. Dolores enjoyed helping with Bingo at The Knights of Columbus, watching and attending Chicago Cubs games, gardening, and pulling the One-Armed Bandits at the local Casino’s. Dolores truly loved spending time with her family and grandchildren, and that was especially highlighted by Dolores sharing a birthday with her great-granddaughter.
