Dianne Parish Obituary

Dianne E. Parish aka Sissy, 83, of Battle Creek, Michigan, formerly of Hammond, Indiana, passed away on May 28, 2026.

She is survived by her children: Kimberly L Moore and James E. Parish II. Grandson; Brandon D. Herbert and his wife Nicole. Her great- grandchildren; Riley and Oliver “Ollie”. Several nieces and nephews, and especially Jacob Saylor, Derek Dembowski, and Thomas Parish for keeping in touch and visiting with her over the years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Austin F. Saylor and Ellen J Sampson and Step- father, Robert H. Sampson;   Her only husband James E. Parish whom she was divorced from but still friends with; her brother, Butch Saylor; and sister, Lola Dembowski; and other loved ones who welcomed her into eternal rest.

She graduated from Hammond High School and spent many years working as a baker for Wiseway and Jewel Food Stores.  Dianne also enjoyed selling Viking sewing machines and taught quilting at JoAnn Fabrics.  Later she provided in home care giving for dementia patients and loved it.

Dianne enjoyed a life filled with creativity, adventure, and service to others. She loved cooking, traveling, quilting, and sewing.  She was especially passionate about ceramics and opened her own studio Dianne’s Ceramic Studio in Calumet Township before later relocating to Hammond. Her travels included mission trips and memorable experiences abroad, including a special trip to Machu Picchu, Peru. She never turned down an opportunity to hop on for a motorcycle ride, four wheeling, or to go fishing.  Most importantly she LOVED God and served him well here on earth.

Dianne will be remembered for her kind heart, creativity, adventurous spirit, and the love she shared with family and friends. Her memory will live on in the many lives she touched through her generosity, talents, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the family. Many private remembrances will be held throughout the year.
