David W Correy

David W. Correy, age 42, formerly of Griffith, passed away on Monday, December 22, 2025. He is survived by his husband of 2 years, Darius Brown, father: Timothy Correy, siblings: Timothy, Thomas, Michael, and Kathryn, nieces and nephews: Autumn Sanford, Christian Robinson, Jasmine Woodrow, Oliver Correy, and Christopher Correy, and grand niece: Wynter Robinson. He is preceded in death by his mother, Linda, maternal grandparents: Lillian and William Cross, and paternal grandparents: Thomas and Anna Correy.

Friends may meet with the family on Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 2:00 until 5:00 PM at White Funeral Home located 921 W. Glen Park Ave. (45th Avenue) in Griffith. 

David was an avid gamer. Played a multitude of various types of games primarily video games. He also liked to dismantle, fix and mod consoles, controllers and PC hardware. He would create various guides and maps for games with extensive details. A very creative and talented artist. Collector of cards. A chronic organizer in nearly everything he does. Loves biking, skating and swimming. Enjoyer of the unique stones, glass, bottles, building kits, pottery, lights. He had aspirations for one day creating his own video game someday. His mind was always overflowing with artist creativity and puns. He loved putting a smile on people’s faces even if it comes from bad word play or just being plain goofy. A big enjoyer of music especially EDM but Video Game Soundtracks is what moved him the most. Breaking out of his shell to perform in a play when he was in college was a big moment for him since he never thought that someone like him could ever have the courage to be on stage in front of so many. He took great pride in being a Leo and took pride in everything that he did. In recent years he’s worked at Meijer as a stocker and Sherwin Williams as an operator with his last years dedicated to Online Streaming.
