Charlotte Robinson, age 96 of Griffith, affectionately known as Rob Grandma, Great GG, and Char Char, passed away on Friday May 8, 2026.
She is survived by her daughter Cindy (Joe) Appel; grandchildren- Jim (Abby) Borders, Lori (Andrew) Bonnell, and Christopher (Trisha Appel); great grandchildren Riley Appel, Jaxson Bonnell, and Lucas Appel; sister-in-law Dorothy Idzior; nieces and nephews- Jean (Tim) Rutledge, Robert (Patty) Adler, and Lynn Kitzmiller, and many great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Char was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Jennie Idzior, husband James Robinson, daughter Gail (Steve) Borders, sister Lorraine Adler, brother Joseph Idzior Jr., and by her special friend, Vince Sell.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday May 12, 2026, at White Funeral Home with Minister Thomas Plesha officiating, and a private burial will be held at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville. Friends may meet with the family on Tuesday May 12, 2026, from 4-8:00pm at White Funeral Home is located at 921 W. Glen Park Ave (45th Ave.) in Griffith. Private burial will begin at White Funeral Home at 11am Wednesday and end at Calumet Park Cemetery.
Charlotte was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Griffith. She was the manager of Harvey’s Dime Store and Co-owner of Just-a- Notion in Griffith. Char loved watching movies with family, and Judge Judy. She loved spending time with family and all the children in the family that she loved so much; caring for her daughter’s pup, Zeus; making pierogi; taking trips to the casino boats; and shopping for hours.
