Charles Sandefur Obituary

Charles Lee " Chuck" Sandefur, age 67, of Highland, passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2023. He is survived by his siblings: Debra Holzer, Audrey (Mike) Gunnum, Leisa (late Jack) Decker, Laura Wheeler, Brian (late Patsy) Sandefur, and Ashley (Andres Casillas) Wright; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Strother “Nick” and Lauristene “Doris” Townsend; his parents Charles E. and Barbara Sandefur; his wife Terri; son Matthew; nephew Travis, and niece Tori.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Chuck retired from the Operating Engineers Union Local 150. He was a lifelong Chicago Bears fan. He enjoyed snowmobiling in the U.P. with his best friend Banks Duffy, and weekly poker games with friends and family. He was affectionately known as Uncle C not only to his family, but also to so many who knew and loved him. He always saw the best in others and had a way of making you feel special when in his presence. Chuck had a love for music from a young age and played the guitar. He was a musician with many bands over the years including Tel Silvers and the Southern Justice Band, Deuces Wild, and Cheyenne.
