Charlene G Berkos

Charlene G. Berkos, age 81, of Wheatfield and formerly of Hebron, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2025.  She is survived by her children: Sheri (Paul) Olen, Mark (Candace) Berkos, Steven (Diane) Berkos, Edie (Dennis) DeHaan, grandchildren: Joshua, Krissy, Sean, Toni, Ashlee, Joe, Jeff, Ryan, Matt, Tyler, Jakob, Andrew, and Izabel, 20 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Charlene is preceded in death by her husband, Steve Berkos, parents, and sisters: Mildred DeArmond and Marilyn Metzger.

Charlene was a graduate of Roosevelt High School in East Chicago and IU NW School of Nursing. She retired from St. Margaret Hospital (Maternity Unit) as a nurse in Hammond. Charlene loved to play cards, watching the History Channel, needle point, and crocheting. She was also a loving and amazing mother, grandma, and great grandmother.
