Carl T. Booker, age 90, of Griffith, passed away July 15, 2025. He was born in Willoughby, OH and moved to southern Indiana at age 9.
He is survived by his wife, Eunice, of 61 years, two sons
Richard and James (Tammy), six grandchildren —Cam, Tyler, Zach, Cody, Brittany, Shelby, and three greatgrandchildren—Cheyanne, Georgia, and Rowland.
Carl earned an executive secretarial license from
Spencerian Business College in Louisville, KY. He went on to earn Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Indiana University. He then moved to Griffith, IN to accept a teaching position in special education and taught for thirty
years.
An avid collector of carnival glass for fifty-six years, he and Eunice traveled to all 50 states looking for treasures as well as adventures. He was very active in and held numerous positions in several carnival glass clubs. Carl was a member of the Griffith First United Methodist Church since 1963. After he joined the church, he devotedly sang tenor in the choir, played piano duets, and played in the handbell choir. He is likely now singing in the Celestial choir.
A celebration of Carl's life will be held Saturday, July 26, 2025, at White Funeral Home in Griffith, IN. Visitation will be from 1:00-4:00 with service immediately following.
Burial will be private at a later date.
