Algirdas Jasaitis, lovingly known as “Johnny Coo,” age 74, entered eternal rest on Saturday January 17, 2026.
He is survived by his sister, Nijola Schwader; sister-in-law, Diana Jasaitis; and many cherished nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was reunited in eternal rest with his parents, Ksaveras Jasaitis and Regina Namikaite, and his beloved brother, Eugene Jasaitis.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, January 30th, 2026, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at White Funeral Home located at 921 W. Glen Park (45th Ave.) in Griffith. Funeral services will be led by Father Chris Perez.
Interment will be held privately for family.
Johnny Coo grew up in East Chicago, Indiana. He spent many years working as a grinder for Union Tank Car and was also employed by Blaw-Knox. A hardworking and devoted man, he took pride in providing for his family.
He enjoyed sports and was a loyal fan of the Green Bay Packers, Chicago Blackhawks, and Chicago Cubs. Johnny Coo was known for his fun-loving spirit, kindness, and caring nature. He had a great sense of humor and was deeply loved by his family. He especially enjoyed spoiling his nieces and nephews, who brought him great joy.
He will be remembered fondly and greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
