William Maldonado, age 86, of Griffith passed away on Sunday July 26, 2015 surrounded by his loving family.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Socorro.

Children: Linda (Scott) Cassidy, Elizabeth (Steven) Majors, Bill (Melissa) Maldonado, Ray (Yvonne) Maldonado, LuAnn Kesic, and Cathy Maldonado (Craig Chubbuck).

Grandchildren: Paul, Amber, Brandon, Ashley, William, Joshua, Brett, Luke, Marisa, Brianna, Raquelle, Matt, Kevin, Sam, Drew, Martin, Evan, Julianna, and Isabella

Great granddaughter: Brooke

Sisters: Ernestine Coy and Dora Maldonado

Preceded in death by his parents, Guillermo and Lucretia Maldonado, sons, Kevin and Marty and by his brother Michael.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at 10:00am directly at St. Mary Catholic Church, 525 N. Broad St. Griffith, IN. with Father Theodore Mens, celebrating.

Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Schererville, IN.

Friends may meet with the family on Wednesday July 29 ^th from 3-8:00pm at White Funeral Home, located at 921 W. 45 ^th Street in Griffith, IN. An afternoon prayer service will be held at 5:00pm on Wednesday.

William was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, where he was involved in the Knights of Columbus Council # 3631, Family Services, St. Vincent DePaul Society, Usher, St. Mary Men's Club, Eucharistic Ministry, and Ambassadors of Mary.  William was retired from U.S. Steel, an Army Veteran, and he was an avid sports fan.  He also enjoyed golfing, and traveling.  William graduated from East Chicago Washington High School Class of 1948 and from Ball State University Class of 1958.
